Cosmetic Surgery and Its Prospects

Cosmetic surgeries, just like any other kind of surgery, require the supervision of expert surgeons, essentially those surgeons who have performed these surgeries several times before and who have been trained in this art. The surgical removal of fat is not necessarily related to weight loss although that is the most common understanding of the name. This is a case where more than meets the eye.

The Prospects of Cosmetic Surgery

Cosmetic surgeries, especially those related to fat removal have been misunderstood, and yet people undertake these surgeries. With incomplete knowledge of what one is getting into, disappointment with fat removal surgeries are imminent. Cosmetic surgeries also have been under scrutiny due to the number of deaths that have taken place while the patients were in surgery. But the medical community is always under scrutiny since lives hang in the balance. In addition, there are no justifications for these deaths, death due to surgery is not always related to the form of surgery, but it often involves the patient's tolerance levels and response to anaesthesia.

You Receive what you Pay For

People should also consider spending the necessary amount of money when it comes to altering their image; frugality for plastic surgery might result in improper services being rendered and hence dissatisfaction with or problems due to the surgery.

Some Things Never Change

Liposuction surgery has been in the news recently, with both good and bad reviews and comments, but what else is new? But the fact that liposuction surgery has survived through the years and still continues to thrive shows the significance of this form of surgery. liposuction is essential and useful not only to those who are fat but also to those who require body sculpting and restructuring.

What If I'm Too Afraid to Get Liposuction?

There are a lot of different questions about liposuction out there: "Will it work?" "How much will it hurt?" "Should I get SmartLipo, ProLipo, CoolLipo, LipoLite, LipoTherme, or something I haven't even heard of?" "How do I know if I have a good surgeon?" Many of these questions actually boil down to a single question: "How scared should I be about liposuction?" People are naturally apprehensive. Liposuction (also known as lipoplasty or suction lipectomy) is a fairly invasive procedure, involving the removal of significant amounts of fat. Additonally, most people don't understand it very well, and people tend to fear what they don't understand.

Because of this, some people who want to undergo a lipectomy worry that they will become too anxious to be able to do it. For these people, hearing that they will most likely be kept awake throughout the procedure typically doesn't help.

What these people might be glad to hear is that some amount of pre-surgery jitters is normal and expected. While patients will probably be able to control their anxiety better if they have learned about the procedure and know what to expect, sometimes patients need a little extra help. It is fairly common for an operating surgeon to prescribe anti-anxiety medication solely for the purpose of helping patient through the surgery. The surgeon will often prescribe one pill for the night before, and then give an additional dosage just before the surgery. This tends to help people to be able to be calm enough for the procedure to take place.

If you are afraid that you might be too nervous and anxious, talk to your surgeon, and see if he or she would be willing to prescribe something for you to take. Similarly, if you know that you have a history of depression, anxiety or panic attacks, it would be best to alert your surgeon as to this fact. If you are already taking anti-anxiety medication, make sure that you tell your surgeon this so that he can know what type of medication he should give you.

Some people have an extreme phobia about needles. Given that needles figure very prominently in liposuction, some people worry that they will be unable to undergo the procedure. Most people can overcome this fear enough to get through surgery with the help of mild anti-anxiety medications. However, a small number of patients simply can't get over their fear of needles. These patients sometimes choose to have general anesthesia during their liposuction. This increases the risks and the costs of surgery, but for some patients it is worth it.

Although most people get something of a case of the jitters when they are about to undergo liposuction, most are able to control it, whether on their own or with the help of medication. If you are considering undergoing liposuction, but worry that you might experience too much anxiety, please consider meeting with a surgeon in your area to discuss it. Many surgeons offer free consultations to potential clients. Your surgeon can answer any questions that you might have.

The Recovery After Laser Liposuction

While some plastic surgery procedures require a long list of post-op instructions, SmartLipo's recovery process is much simpler. The heat from the laser's energy results in significantly reduced side effects and lessens the risk of complications after surgery. The laser used in SmartLipo seals the open blood vessels and lymphatic channels as it goes through the fat and melts it. This reduces blood loss and lymphatic leaking during the procedure as well as the magnitude of bruising and swelling after.

As soon as the Smartlipo procedure is over, the body will begin healing itself. Regardless of being done under general or local anesthesia, patients can leave the facility where the procedure was performed as the anesthetic wears off. Patients will go home with compression garments applied. This could be a wrap-around abdominal binder, a compression girdle, ace wraps on the arms, or a neck strap, depending upon the area treated. These compression garments have no magical properties and are not singularly responsible for the cosmetic outcome. But they do help with pain and comfort as they hold the area tight and prevent the areas treated from moving around excessively...and painfully. The very small incisions where the laser probe and cannulas were introduced will drain a little and that is perfectly OK. Sometimes these will be left open so that drainage can occur. This drainage will usually stop in a day or so. There is no care required of these small incisions. (i.e., no need for antibiotic creams)

With traditional liposuction, the recovery period can be weeks or even months. Extensive swelling and bruising was normal and the pain was significant. With Smartlipo, the recovery is definitely quicker with less pain. Many patients can resume their regular work and social activities within the first few days. Smartlipo still does have some swelling but with less pain, activities and exercise can resume sooner which increases circulation to the treated areas. As circulation is increased with greater postoperative activities, the swelling that does develop will go away quicker.

As Smartlipo is often done with other cosmetic face and body procedures, the amount of recovery will be extended as the operation and trauma to the body increases. But when done as a stand alone procedure, Smartlipo offers some real recovery advantages over traditional liposuction.

Randy Jackson Is Determined to Get an Idol

He is the only original American Idol judge still on the show is determined to find a star this season. Randy Jackson says that the age requirement has been dropped to 15 years of age and they have been finding some great talent among the pool of kids. This may be true but the truth of the matter is is that they have not replaced a Simon like judge who spits out iconic one-liners, tells the truth to some of these goof balls who believe they can sing, and who can detect talent with the best of them.

Randy Jackson is Back with a New Gang

He is also pleasantly surprised at how the new set of judges that includes Jennifer Lopez and Steve Tyler and himself got along very well. And so, he is excited about the new talent that audiences will meet through the show. Jackson says that the only three things they are looking for in a contestant is being unique, being a star, and having great talent. Although, the show has been criticized for focusing away from the core theme, it has found some great talent in the likes of Justin Bieber and hence Randy Jackson says they are looking for another Bieber or Lady Gaga maybe!

A Textbook Case

Randy Jackson's best achievement so far was probably losing 114 pounds through a gastric bypass surgery. He still looks a bit overweight but losing that amount of weight was a great achievement. People undertake liposuction to get rid of the fat from their body. Liposuction is a surgical procedure and people can choose from different kinds of liposuction techniques to finally do what not no other diet or plan has done in people's lives.

Liposuction Helps in Necessity

There are different ways people adopt to keep their body fit and the commonest of these ways include exercise and dieting. People also adopt these fitness regimes to lose weight from their body. But, people who are a victim of obesity and have been over-weight most of their lives cannot adopt these fitness regimes to lose weight, they might be able to build up stamina or tone their body but losing weight to an extent that makes them look good wouldn't be short of a miracle.

Obesity can be Resolved

People who have been over-weight for most of their lives or people who are obese or are prone to obesity and have to be extra careful with their diet and it becomes a trouble for them to lose weight. These people would take up any given better solution other than dieting and exercise since most of them have been through that routine. The problem is that discipline and time that is involved. It could help to purchase a treadmill or elliptical machine and park it right in front of the television but perhaps that $350 machine cannot be afforded. In addition, this does not solve the eating issue.

Experience Matters

For most of these people liposuction is the only option available. Liposuction is the surgical removal of fat from the body and people who undertake this procedure most often vouch for its good results. If someone is willing to invest in this procedure, there is a good chance the urge to keep this figure will trump the eating one. People who have undertaken liposuction in clinics that are not certified and from people who have less or no experience in performing this kind of surgery are the ones who do not end up with the proper results. When it comes to altering your self-image it is best to avoid cost-cutting in these areas.

Men Turn to Cosmetic Surgeries

Men who want to look young and good in this New Year are turning towards cosmetic surgery as well. Men also use cosmetic surgeries to look good whether it is to look good personally or for professional use. Some people believe this is just a female proclivity when in essence, it most certainly is not. Men want to look more attractive to appeal to more woman, the situation has been occurring for centuries and vice versa as well. This is merry go round and the money pouring into this field is earth shattering.

The Adonis Effect

Men undertake popular facial procedures to enhance jaw lines, and get botox injections and fillers, trim extra skin and get wrinkles removed. Men also get nasal imperfections like ridges, bumps, and weird nose shapes fixed. Men undertake different laser and cosmetic procedures and get treated for gynecomastia (man boobs) love handles, lack of perfect features, and hence removing fat from the body is essential for the same. Lipoplasty accentuates the different muscles in the body.

Freedom from Insecurity

Laser assisted liposuction helps decrease the amount of bruises to the body. People think that only women feel insecure about their face or body, but this is not the case, it happens in men too. Liposuction procedures offer freedom from this insecurity that people face and hence they are gaining popularity. Men, like woman, sometimes prefer to keep it a secret if they have ever undertaken any form of surgery, especially liposuction surgery. It is essential to remember that these cosmetic procedures offer enhancement to a certain extent, but anything in excess can be problematic and hence it is best to avoid overdoing these procedures as Heidi Montag knows all about now.

Smartlipo a Healthier Way to a Healthier Life

It is the most recent advancement in the liposuction techniques available. It uses laser technology to remove those unnecessary fat in your body. It melts the fat deposits in your body and drains them through the surgical opening. There are no stitches required to remove this fat because the incision made are really small. It offers many advantages compared to the traditional liposuction techniques. The laser technology used in this makes it much more safer method as the blood vessels are sealed when they are cut.

It makes less swelling and bruises to the patient. The pain after the operation is also very less compared to the traditional liposuction techniques. This technique has been well tested and has been found safer at every ground. The surgeons who perform this technique are well experienced in the laser treatment and can provide you with the best results.

It permanently removes the fat from the region where the fat was deposited. In future if the fat gets deposited again, it will be distributed and it will not settle in the same part of the body. Smartlipo is not recommended as a method of weight loss. It removes the fat deposit which is stubborn in nature and it cannot be removed by just exercise. This technique provides the patient with lesser pain, faster result and safety. It is very effective and is affordable, that makes it a popular choice in the current treatment methods. It has revolutionized the liposuction techniques available. It has been a major advancement in the health industry. It provides the patients with a healthier way to a healthier life. Smartlipo is recommended by experienced cosmetic surgeons and is considered as a safe method to avoid that unnecessary fat deposit from your body.

Steve Tyler Is a Great Judge

American Idol's new season was hyped for having new judges and a radical change, although the radical change is still awaited, the new judges - Steve Tyler, Randy Jackson, and Jennifer Lopez are more than welcome. The one change is a revamped new stage but that is not going to compensate for not having Simon. Many people are disappointed because they did not replace that unpolitically correct judge who tells the truth with anyone even closely like him. He was the main reason people watched the show.

Steve Tyler is Still Popular with the Crowd

Although, Jennifer Lopez looked gorgeous and Randy Jackson made quite an appearance, Tyler is the one who is more popular with the crowd. It was seen that he had a lot to say about everything, and most people were up for listening. Steve Tyler was charming and witty throughout the episode but he did give some questionable comments and statements while he was there. He has always been famous for all the random events in his life but he is still popular with the crowd due to his great talent. The most serious point in Steve Tyler's life was probably his throat surgery.

Too Thin

Tyler underwent throat surgery to fix a popped blood vessel and he was back to work soon after the surgery. Steve Tyler is so thin he might actually need a surgery that is the opposite of liposuction. He may need to mix in a hamburger. Liposuction is the procedure that helps people get rid of the excess fat in their bodies by having it removed surgically. Liposuction is a big deal and it is important that people do extensive research before they decide to open up this door and walk through it.

Can I Get Liposuction on My Chin?

When someone says the word liposuction, most people think instinctively of fixing their belly bulges or thunder thighs. While it's true that the belly, flanks, thighs, hips and butt are some of the most popular target areas for liposuction (also known as lipoplasty or suction lipectomy), they are by no means the only ones. Not everyone knows that lipoplasty can be performed on a wide variety of body areas--almost anywhere there is excess fat, lipoplasty can help to slim the area.

One area that people might not immediately think of, but where liposuction can be very helpful is the chin area. Many people wish that they had a younger appearance about the face. Although much of what contributes to an aged facial appearance has to do with factors such as skin elasticity and wrinkle lines, much of it also has to do with fat deposits. As people age, they frequently end up storing more and more fat around their faces. These fat deposits can be very hard to get rid of through exercise or diet. Sometimes this happens under the chin, creating a double chin effect. This article will explain what liposuction of the chin is and how it works.

A chin liposuction can remove the fat deposits under the chin to eliminate double chins and create a new, more aesthetically pleasing jawline. During the procedure, a surgeon numbs the area with general anesthetic. Then he or she makes a small incision just under the chin. The surgeon inserts a small hollow tube called a cannula, which sucks out the unwanted fat. The exact specifics of your surgery will depend on which liposuction technique you go with. The tumescent technique is the most commonly used today; however, a number of the newer methods have proven very effective and useful. For example, laser lipectomy has shown itself to be an excellent choice for small, delicate areas such as the face. This technique goes by a number of different names, with SmartLipo, ProLipo, CoolLipo, LipoLite, and LipoTherme being some of the most common, but the principles underlying all of them are the same.

After the surgery, patients are generally asked to wear a light elastic wrap over the surgery site in order to help with the healing. Patients generally go back to their surgeon for follow up appointments so that the surgeon can monitor their progress. Most patients recover relatively quickly and are able to return to work within a few days and to normal activities shortly thereafter.

Just as liposuction can help create more streamlined, aesthetically pleasing chins, it can also help with other areas of the face that have excess fat. People who have excess cheek fat or who have pronounced jowls can also benefit from lipoplasty.

Of course, one has to bear in mind that liposuction is a real surgery, and that it has some very real risks too. Although surgeons do their best, there are always chances for complications. Some of these complications are relatively minor, such as scarring or the creation of other blemishes. At the most serious, there is the remote but real possibility for serious injury or death. Before you decide to undergo any surgery, be sure you've done your research and have a realistic understanding of the risks and benefits.

If you're considering getting a chin liposuction, you may want to think about meeting with a surgeon in your area. Many surgeons offer free consultations to potential clients. Your surgeon can help answer your questions and help you to know a little better what you can expect.

Smartlipo - Your Expected Recovery Time

The first question that many people who may want to go for smartlipo surgery is "what is my recovery time like?" The second thing that comes to mind is what the nature of the surgery will be like and the results. Well, I will exactly ask same questions, what about you?

Smatlipo is approved by FDA and is a laser-assisted liposuction procedure. This procedure has proved a perfect solution to people with excessive fat deposits. Many people have resulted to this and their testimonies are not bad so far.

Smartlipo is effective in removing fats from all parts of the body including the rather hard-top-reach areas that pose untold difficulty with liposuction. With smartlipo, fat deposits can be effectively removed from the abdomen, face, neck, back, chin, hips, knees, and buttocks. It is also used in handling other fat issues like saddle bags, love handles and many more.

Unlike the liposuction, smartlipo requires only local anesthesia. This means fewer risks and complications. The worst you can witness with smartlipo are minor swelling, bruising and numbness. These however, occur within a short period of time without other affects or severe side effects. In most cases, depending on the surgery procedure used, you may be required to wear a support garment or clothing for several days after the surgery.

Ordinarily, recovery from liposuction takes weeks or even months. But with smartlipo you can usually go home after your procedure on the same day. It has lesser recovery time and you will be back in your normal daily routine or profession within a few days of the surgery. Surprisingly, the surgeon will advice you for a day or two of rest after the surgery then you can fall back in line with your work.

However, the recovery period may be dependent on the amount of fat removed. To improve your status and health, stay away from strenuous sports for at least a week or two., whatever your doctor directs you to do. If you are scheduled for recovery check-ups honor them. The monitoring eyes of a professional will help you in receiving best body contouring results.

If You Want the Perfect Liposuction Experience, Find the Perfect Surgeon

Liposuction is becoming ever more popular, and new techniques are being invented every year. The field of Laser-assisted liposuction is growing especially rapidly, with a number of different companies developing different lasers for the procedure, such as SmartLipo, ProLipo, CoolLipo, LipoLite, and LipoTherme. With all these choices, cosmetic surgery clients are giving more and more thought to what method of liposuction they want. What some people don't realize is that one's choice of surgeon is just as important--and perhaps more important--than which method one goes with.

An experienced and skilled surgeon understands the process of creating beauty and knows how to maximize a patient's results. Experienced surgeons are also much better equipped to deal with possible complications than newer and less skilled doctors. Frequently, a tried and true surgeon using an old liposuction technique can get better results more safely than an inexperienced surgeon with the latest and greatest technology. But how does one go about picking one's surgeon? While it's difficult to give an exact formula, this article will give some general information on how to find a doctor who's worth your while.

One easy first step is to check and make sure that your liposuction surgeon is board certified. If your surgeon has received certification from the American Board of Plastic surgery, then you already know a number of things. For example, you know that the doctor graduated from a reputable medical school and that he or she has completed a five year residency. You know that he or she has had specific training in cosmetic surgery, and isn't just a dermatologist who does liposuction on the side. Doctors who have actually studied cosmetic surgery and aesthetics tend to perform much better liposuctions than those who have not. One can frequently find this out from a doctor's website or by simply calling their practice.

Another good way to check out a doctor is to go in for a consultation. While you are there, be sure to ask a lot of questions. If you are proactive, you can find out a lot. Ask how many times the doctor has performed the specific procedure that you are going to undergo. Has the doctor received special training in this method of liposuction? If you can find someone who specializes in the type of liposuction or the body area that you wish to have operated on, your results will typically be much better.

The office visit is also a good time to ask to look at before and after pictures of their patients. While you should remain cautious, this can be a highly useful exercise. You can sometimes tell if a doctor's patients seem to have excessive bruising or swelling, or if they have a lumpy or unpleasing appearance. These can be signs of inexperience. However, remember that some doctors only show their best pictures, which means that your operation may not turn out exactly like the photos. Feel free to ask how often there are complications and how frequently people are dissatisfied with this doctor. You may also be able to find more about the doctor's reputation by Googling their name and "reviews."

One final indicator that may help you know whether a surgeon is a good choice is if he or she has privileges at a bona fide, accredited hospital. Your surgeon may perform some of his or her minor surgeries in a private office, as this is both cost-effective and can help with confidentiality. However, if your surgeon doesn't have a good reputation and a good relationship with a local hospital, and if he doesn't have the ability to perform surgery there, that may be a sign to keep looking. The best cosmetic surgeons typically have full privileges at a hospital near them.

Liposuction - A Body Contouring Solution

There are often common misconceptions about many of today's cosmetic procedures and treatments that seem to flood the market. Many of these treatments are very effective and valuable treatment options for patients seeking the services of cosmetic surgery. However, many patients confuse the uses of each treatment and mistake their own candidacy for these treatments.

One such procedure that is often misunderstood is liposuction. Commonly thought of as a quick weight loss solution for overweight and obese individuals, it is actually no such thing. It is best described as a body contouring treatment, used primarily for those patients with isolated, localized pockets of fat or fatty cells. Those searching for weight loss solutions should consult their physician for other options, steering clear from this cosmetic surgical procedure, as it is not intended to be used as the treatment many mistake it for. Liposuction can, however, be a viable and very valuable option for those looking to rid themselves of embarrassing pockets of localized fat. Some areas do not respond well to exercise and may be tougher to shape than other areas of one's body. This is where liposuction comes into play as an effective option in removing these unwanted fat pockets to help patients look and feel their best.

Liposuction is usually performed using a general anesthetic or a localized anesthetic if the area is small enough and need be. Surgeons should place incisions in the least conspicuous places to maintain the cosmetic nature of the procedure. After all, most would consider trading pockets of fat for noticeable, unsightly scarring a push. Using a device called a 'cannula', surgeons remove the unwanted fat from the patient's body and damage the remaining fat cells. The body then removes or repairs these remaining, damaged fat cells, often taking weeks to complete. It should be pointed out that removing an excess of fat in one area might cause dents to appear in the patient's body. That is why the surgeon should remove only the top layer of fat during surgery.

Plastic surgery has become very popular over the past couple of decades and indications are that the trend will continue. Liposuction, many may be surprised to learn, is the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure in the United States, thus indicating the importance of this procedure for many Americans. As is true with many things in life and in medicine, communication can help to solve many problems. The surgeon and the patient should be on the same page about the procedure and the responsibilities the procedure brings to the patient. As mentioned previously, this procedure is not meant to be a weight loss solution, but as a body contouring option. Healthy individuals are the best candidates and maintaining a health lifestyle is important after the procedure is performed. All of the patient's previous medical history and complications faced in the past should be disclosed so that the physician can better serve and treat the patient in a safe and reliable manner. As with any medical procedure, certain risks are inherent. Discussing all possible complications and risks prior to the procedure is wise, as it allows the patient to fully understand the treatment and all of the responsibilities that go along with it.

How Can I Keep From Regaining Weight After My Liposuction?

Liposuction technology is being improved all the time, making liposuction less invasive and taxing on the body. The field of Laser-assisted liposuction is growing especially rapidly, with a number of different companies devloping different lasers for the surgery, such as SmartLipo, ProLipo, CoolLipo, LipoLite, and LipoTherme. These new techniques are helping fuel America's increasing interest with cosmetic surgery, but many people still have reservations about liposuction. One of the things they worry about most is that they will regrow the fat that has been removed from their bodies. They worry that they will have wasted the money spent on their procedures.

In fact, some people do put on weight again after their cosmetic surgery, and some people end up in worse shape than they were in before their liposuction. On the other hand, there are many people who successfully keep the pounds off and stay trim even long after their surgeries. The good news is that the health and slimness of a liposuction patient is entirely in his or her hands.

Liposuction is not and was never meant to be a total-body weight loss solution. Liposuction can work very well at helping fix specific problem areas, but in and of itself it cannot fix obesity. Liposuction will not drastically change a person's metabolism, so if you have weight issues prior to liposuction, chances are good that you will have weight issues again unless you change your habits.

Although there is no evidence to suggest that the fat cells that liposuction removes can regrow, you can still gain weight in the remaining fat cells in your body. Sometimes this can lead to unusual results if you allow yourself to gain large amounts of weight. You may find yourself putting on excess fat in places that you have never struggled with before. However, if you are careful and diligent, you should be able to prevent post-liposuction weight gain.

The principles governing weight-gain and weight-maintenance are, unsurprisingly, the same as for everyone else. An official study found out the following fairly-obvious but nonetheless important facts: patients who eat a healthy diet are only a third as likely as those who ate unhealthily to gain weight, while patients who followed an exercise plan did four times better at maintaining their weight than patients who didn't exercise.

You will probably do best if you establish healthy habits of exercise early after your liposuction, as soon as your recovery allows it. In fact, if you haven't yet had a liposuction, but are considering it, you would do well to begin an exercise plan now. It will both make you healthier for your surgery and prepare you to keep the pounds off after your procedure. If you begin a new exercise program after your liposuction, remember to ease into it; you don't want to hurt yourself. If you talk to your surgeon, he or she can give you advice about what sort of exercise regimen would suit you well.

Regardless of your circumstances, you can begin to eat more healthily. Be smart about it, though; avoid flash in the pan diets that won't meet your nutritive needs, and don't give in to the temptation to starvation diet. Eat foods that are low fat and which will give you the vitamins and minerals that you needs. Again, your surgeon should be able to help you find a diet which can help you to keep off the unwanted pounds.

Liposuction alone will not cure overweightness or obesity. It works best when it is accompanied by healthy diet, regular exercise and other healthy habits.

SmartLipo Liposuction - Promotes Skin Tightening

SmartLipo liposuction promotes skin tightening. This is great news particularly for people of both genders, in the 40+ category. SmartLipo facilitates the creation of fresh collagen, a process that's highly imperative for skin tonicity. The other benefits of SmartLipo are familiar to many - post-surgery complications if any (rated to be under one percent) are limited in intensity; smaller incisions; suitability for application on smaller areas; utilization of a local anesthetic; controlled heating and shaping; no stitches and no long stays at the SmartLipo practice; and permanent elimination of fat.

Promotes Skin Tightening Better than Traditional Liposuction

Apart from scar contracture, traditional liposuction doesn't really have a bearing on how the skin would shrink. A study presented at a yearly meeting of the American Society of Laser Medicine compared the capabilities of the SmartLipo MPX system and traditional liposuction, to tighten tissue and enhance skin elasticity. For the study, ten women had SmartLipo MPX done on one side of the abdomen, and conventional liposuction done on the other side. At three months, skin tightening was on an average, improved by 62% with the SmartLipo MPX, but only by 5% with conventional liposuction.

No Loose Skin from SmartLipo Liposuction

From the above study, it is quite clear that patients going in for SmartLipo needn't worry about ending up with loose skin. What's more, the SmartLipo MPX is better than the older SmartLipo in terms of power and speed. Both SmartLipo and the SmartLipo MPX have garnered the green signal from the FDA. Keep in mind though that the degree of skin tightening achieved through SmartLipo liposuction would vary from person to person, depending to an extent on the quality and health of the skin.

Towards a Firm and Attractive Figure

SmartLipo liposuction is definitely worth a try considering that it both eliminates fat for good, and promotes skin tightening. In this beauty conscious era, you too could benefit from an attractive, tighter and firmer figure.

Get Your Liposuction Done in a "Smart" Way

Many people are troubled by areas of fat that simply will not budge. They may be avid health nuts, who exercise on a regular basis by hiking, running, lifting weights and still the lumps and bumps persist. The most common areas tend to be arms, abdomens, thighs, love handles, even necks.

The bulges are unsightly and seem stubborn and unfair. What's a person to do? One answer is: Smart Lipo. This method is minimally invasive and on the leading edge of technological advances.

The Smart Lipo laser system actually melts the fat which allows the plastic surgeon to remove it via small incisions. This is much easier than the old method of suctioning fat. It is also much easier to recover from.

How does it work?

The physician inserts a tiny tube called a cannula, which contains a laser fiber, into the problem area of skin. It is moved around while zapping the fat cells, causing them to liquefy and ready to drain away. This also has a positive effect on the skin tightening substance called collagen.

The process even seals blood vessels at the same time. This is all done under a local anesthesia rather than a general one, because it is minimally invasive. It is done on an out-patient basis, which means that there is no overnight hospital stay required.

The recovery time is relatively short allowing the average patient to can go back to work within a couple of days. The bandages are removed in approximately two weeks.

If this sounds like a procedure you'd be interested in, make an appointment for an initial consultation with a plastic surgeon experienced in this specific method. The ideal candidate for a Smart Lipo should have a healthy lifestyle with a good diet and exercise routine. They should be no more than 25 pounds over their ideal weight and be troubled by localized fatty areas that have not responded to exercise.

It's a good idea to view before and after photos to see what type of results might be possible for your individual body type after the Smart Lipo. Bring a list of questions to ask your physician at that first appointment and be prepared to share your family health history at the same time. It could be just a matter of weeks before you have the slim and bulge-free physique you've been yearning for.

If you are troubled by the fat deposits in your body and want to go for a liposuction Charleston -based cosmetic surgery centre can offer you the procedure. Improve your body contours and proportion. Enhance your self- image. For more details, visit http://www.oneillplasticsurgery.com.

5 Top Tips to Know About Smart Liposuction

What exactly is smart liposuction? Is it a new form of liposuction? No, not really. In a nutshell, smart liposuction is knowing what kind of liposuction surgery you want, the results you are hoping to achieve, and how to go about attaining what you desire.

1 - Steer clear of cheap liposuction. If the price looks too good to be true, it probably is. If the surgeon is cutting corners, you could wind up having problems after your surgery that could cause you to have to spend more money to resolve. So look at cheap liposuction offers as potentially expensive over the long haul.

2 - Find out all you can about your cosmetic surgeon. Reputable cosmetic surgeons will take it upon themselves to show you before-and-after pictures of some of their previous patients. They will also review your options and take time to answer any questions you have. A good surgeon will not pressure you into making a decision to undergo surgery. Instead, your surgeon should allow you time to think about your options without any expectations.

3 - Discuss expected results with your cosmetic surgeon. Knowing what you want to fix about your body and what you hope to achieve is very important before deciding what procedure is right for you. If you are looking to lose weight, lipo is not the answer. However, if you are looking to contour your waistline or hips, liposuction may be the best option for achieving the look you desire.

4 - Do your research before going abroad for surgery. A cosmetic surgery holiday might sound nice, but going abroad to get a good deal on liposuction can be risky. Not all cosmetic surgeons are licensed the same way in other countries. This can mean putting your life in the hands of someone who is less than qualified. If something goes wrong after you return home, you won't have your original surgeon nearby to help you out. This could mean having to pay another surgeon big bucks if your problem requires another surgery.

5 - Do your homework on the various liposuction techniques. You may know you want liposuction, but do you know which technique you want to undergo? In the past, a cannula was the most common method used to suction fat from the body. But it had more side effects associated with it, such as blood loss, bruising, swelling, and a longer recovery period. Today's newer methods, however, have made undergoing lipo a lot easier. Such techniques include Vaser Lipo and Smartlipo. Vaser Lipo uses ultrasound to break up the fat. Smartlipo uses a laser. Each requires significantly smaller cannulas. This results in a lot less bruising, blood loss, scarring, and recovery time.

So if you're considering liposuction, think 'smart liposuction' by following these five tips.

Common Liposuction FAQs

Individuals who consider liposuction to improve their appearance often have many questions regarding the procedure and want to find informative, accurate answers. It is absolutely imperative that an individual consult with a Colorado Liposuction specialist in the field to get the answers that most apply to their personal situation. For the purposes of this article, we will answer some very general, frequently asked questions that may help to provide some initial information.

Am I a good candidate for liposuction?

Liposuction is said to be the most popular form of cosmetic surgery performed today. It is chosen by many people who, even though physically fit, struggle with stubborn fat accumulation in certain areas. If you feel you have such areas, you are likely a candidate for liposuction. It is recommended for those who are physically fit, who exercise regularly and are generally not more than 20 pounds overweight. Liposuction is not used as a weight loss aid. If you are very overweight, it is recommended that you lose excess weight first and use liposuction only to remove smaller fat deposits that don't respond to diet and exercise.

What is SmartLipo?

SmartLipo uses laser technology to remove fat cells from small problem areas. A very fine laser beam is used to blast the fat cells and break them down. A liquid such as saline is added at the same time which makes the fat cells easier to vacuum out.

Does Liposuction require anesthetic?

In most cases, for regular liposuction the patient receives a total anesthetic. For laser assisted liposuction, or Smartlipo, a local anesthetic or epidural is used.

Where is laser liposuction most often performed?

Laser liposuction is generally used for smaller areas that produce stubborn fat deposits such as underarms, back of the knee, thighs, face and neck.

Will I notice results right away?

With traditional liposuction, you will not likely see a difference for two to four weeks. With laser liposuction you should notice a difference within a week.

How much time do I need to take off for laser Lipo?

Laser Lipo generally heals much more quickly than traditional liposuction. Most individuals return to normal activities within a couple of days.

How long will the procedure take?

The length of the procedure generally depends on the size of the area being treated. Very small targeted areas can be completed in under an hour while larger areas may take up to several hours. Your surgeon should be able to tell you during your consultations how long you can expect your procedure to take.

What can I expect after treatment?

You can expect some swelling and possible light bruising of the surrounding areas after treatment. A compression garment of some sort will have to be worn for a few days to help control this bruising and swelling. You may also have some incisions left open to drain during the initial healing period. Your surgeon may prescribe antibiotics to prevent infection. Moving around right away is recommended to prevent blood clots that can form if you remain too sedentary. Stay patient and the results of your surgery will soon appear!

What is a Cosmetic Dermatologist?

Dermatology is the study of skin and its appendages as well as medicine involved in the care of skin and its appendages. Dermatology is one of the largest fields of medicine because the skin is the largest and most visible organ on the human body. Doctors that specialize in dermatology are also educated in surgery and immunology because some skin problems can originate from within the body.

A cosmetic dermatologist is a dermatologist that specializes in surgery to improve the look and the feel of a person's skin with different cosmetic procedures. These doctors are also responsible for facial rejuvenation and skin rejuvenation. Another list of procedures that these doctors perform is:

o Botox

o Stretch mark treatment

o Tattoo removal

o Smartlipo

o Acne treatments

o Laser hair removal

o Laser skin resurfacing

o Juvederm

o Lip augmentation

o Laser spider vein treatment

Cosmetic dermatologists can perform all of the above procedures and more for their patients after a consultation appointment. Dermatology uses topical gels, ointments, prescribed medicine in the form of pills and liquids as well as lasers and other treatments to fix skin problems anywhere on the skin.

Finding a cosmetic dermatologist is easy. Look in your local Yellow Pages for phone numbers and set up a consultation appointment to meet and interview each doctor. Once you have found one that suits your fancy tell he or she what procedure you would like to have done and figure out how much it will cost and how long the procedure will take. It is also a great idea to learn more about the specific details of the procedure you had in mind.

SMARTLIPO - Alternative to Traditional Liposuction

SMARTLIPO is a revolutionary cosmetic surgery which is among the most popular cosmetic surgeries done in USA an UK. It is a minimally invasive procedure for removing fat from the body. You can call it as alternative to liposuction. Although I called it a cosmetic surgery but it is not as common like a simple cosmetic procedure and every care should be taken to avoid any complication.

SMARTLIPO surgery is done by a small cannula which is very tiny and its diameter is just of about 1 mm to 3 mm. The cannula is inserted into the area of the body in which the surgery has to be done. A local anesthesia is used in the region of the body where surgery has to be done. The surgeon moves the cannula all over the region of the surgery. The cannula with its strong energy makes the fat to burn and the dissolved fat is removed occasionally by a suction pump.

This method is so comfortable and easier when compared to the traditional liposuction process which is very much painful. Liposuction procedure involves use of hollow tube which makes draws the fat into a vacuum which causes a lot of pain and discomfort. If you are among those people who are trying to lose weight by natural ways but still not able to get effective results then you is a good candidate for SMARTLIPO.

The surgery can be done in almost any area of the body like face, chin, hip region, abdomen, thighs, buttocks, etc. The side effects of the SMARTLIPO surgery are comparatively very lower than traditional liposuction. The most common side effects are redness at the place where surgery is done. It is understandable that redness is common at any surgery region for any surgery done.

As I said before although it is a cosmetic surgery but every care and home work should be done before undergoing SMARTLIPO surgery. The doctor who is going to perform the surgery his experience and the number of times he has done the same surgery should be checked. Only a qualified and effective doctor can perform this surgery. The recovery period is so low. Mostly the patient can get back to his normal life style within 2 or 3 days. Finally coming to the cost of the surgery it depends on the region of the surgery done, the doctor and generally ranges around $2000 to $7000.

A Smart Alternative to Liposuction

Liposuction is a form of cosmetic surgery designed to remove fat. Recent advances in this field have led to the use of lasers as a non-surgical method for fat removal. As the name suggests, laser liposuction uses the thermal energy of lasers and is particularly effective in treating and removing fat deposits on the body and face.

Research has shown that laser assisted liposuction promotes skin tightening and is a less traumatic alternative to traditional liposuction methods. It is also far more efficient in permanently removing fat cells, as once the fat is removed it is gone forever. As a procedure that is safer and easier, it is no surprise that laser surgery is the smartLipo laser liposuction method of choice in Europe and America.

One of newest methods revolutionizing the way liposuction is performed is smartLipo laser liposuction. It brought the term, "lunch time lipo" into currency as anyone could receive liposuction one day and then return to work the next. It was evident that the liposuction costs were merely incidental to the benefits one derived. Most patients who received the treatment went on to enjoy a better quality of life due to the confidence boost they got from having a firmer and more beautiful body.

Safety is always a concern during surgery, and rightly so. Liposuction with laser does not require the use of general anesthesia, which results in the loss of total consciousness. Instead, the surgeon only has to administer local anesthesia, which renders a specific part of the body insensitive to pain. A liposuction procedure, which requires only the smallest of incisions, sculpt and contour the anesthetized part of the body. This results in minimal scarring and very little blood loss, if any. The patient remains awake throughout the procedure. Such is the ease and effectiveness of the method that the patient is able to leave the operating room not long after. Some even walk straight out of the clinic. Most people are able to get back into their daily routine within a day or two after surgery.

One of the best things about smart laser liposuction is the precision a surgeon attains while performing surgery. With this new technology, it has become much easier to model and perfect the human body. Given that costs are so low but the benefits are so plentiful, why not head to your local liposuction clinic for a consultation today?

Are You a Good Candidate For Liposuction

Liposuction has become a popular way to lose stubborn pockets of fat today, but it is not the right choice for everyone. If you are considering this cosmetic procedure, there are a few guidelines to consider if you want to ensure that this treatment will work for you. By weighing the following factors carefully, and getting the advice of an experienced cosmetic surgeon, you can greatly increase your odds that any liposuction treatment will be safe and effective.

The best candidates for liposuction will be in good health overall with localized pockets of fat that will respond well to this type of treatment. People of average weight are the preferred candidates, since liposuction is not terribly effective in someone who is considered obese. The condition of the skin is also a factor, since skin that is more elastic and firm will show better results. These factors should be evaluated by an experienced cosmetic surgeon to determine whether this procedure will produce the desired results.

Liposuction is not a safe procedure for everyone. Those who have diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, a history of blood clots or a compromised immune system should not consider this type of cosmetic procedure. Your doctor should take a complete medical history during your consultation so that you know if this treatment is a good choice right away. This will also help to determine which type of liposuction treatment might be the most effective. Taking the time to assess these factors with your doctor at the beginning of the process will help to ensure that your liposuction results are safe and successful.

Learning About Laser Methods For Fat Removal

Obesity is something that is affecting millions of people around the world. Why obesity has become so prevalent is directly linked to dietary choices as well as a lack of exercise. Many people, in an effort to save cooking time, like to eat fast food. Additionally, many people have jobs that require them to spend long periods of time sitting behind a desk rather than getting some healthy exercise.

However, medical technology has come up with various ways to combat excess fat, and one of those ways is in the form of a procedure that is known as SmartLipo. Anyone who is contemplating having this procedure done should be aware of how SmartLipo works. To understand that, it is important to know how fat molecules anatomically form.

Each time a person eats food that is high in sugar and in fat, the body takes what it can use of these substances, and then releases the rest into the bloodstream. Fat and sugar are then converted into fat molecules, which start to layer upon themselves in the area between the muscle layer and the fat layer.

Once these fat molecules have been created, they are often very hard to remove via exercise alone. This is where SmartLipo comes in. This procedure uses specially calibrated lasers to get rid of the excess fat molecules. Specifically, the heat from these lasers is strong enough to rupture the fat molecules and liquefy them.

The liquefied fat is then drained out through small incisions that have been made nearby. At the same time that the laser is rupturing the fat molecules, it is also working to seal off the surrounding blood vessels. So, while regular liposuction might produce bruising, swelling, and bleeding, this procedure produces minimal, if not any at all, instances of these things.

Something that people who are interested in having this procedure need to find out is whether or not they would be considered good candidates for this procedure in the first place. People who are within about twenty five pounds of what is considered to be a healthy weight for their body are considered to be the best candidates. Conversely, people who are significantly overweight will be advised to first go on a weight loss program to get within their goal weight.

The SmartLipo procedure itself is an outpatient procedure, because it has been found that patients recuperate best in their own home. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, which means that the patient will be awake. This is actually better for the patient, since it means that there are fewer complications than those that might occur amongst people while under general anesthesia.

In general, the patient will need only one treatment session in order to be able to have the fatty areas of their body contoured. Exactly how long the treatment session will last depends on how much revision work that the patient will need. However, the procedure usually lasts between two and three hours. Because the body will need time to adjust, it will take time to see the overall results. So, it will be very important to have patience!

VelaShape - Find Out the Facts About Velashape!

Now the truth can be told about Velashape. With so many anti-cellulite technologies coming to market - velasmooth, lipodissolve, smart lipo, and now velshape, it can be a bit confusing for the public. With approximately 80% of all women suffering from some form of cellulite, people are keen on answers. How do I get rid of it? I am on a budget, what is the least expensive way to do it? How do I know if it is safe? What are the long term effects? Will Velashape work for me? Or are there other, cheaper, safer alternatives?

How Velashape works

A small hand held device - which is attached by a long cord to a machine that looks a little like a vacuum cleaner - is used by the doctor and is applied to the trouble areas of your body. Using a combination of bi-polar radio frequency and optical energy, the problem area is heated, causing the fat underneath to effectively dissolve and be carried away.

What are the Pros and Cons to using Velashape? And are there alternatives?

Velashape is a non invasive, non surgical technique with no side effects and very little recovery time needed. The downside to using velashape is the cost and the necessity of repeated sessions. Another downside is that Velashape is not a once and for all cure all. Also the people at the velashape clinics will encourage you to eat well, exercise well: all things you should be doing anyways, and things that if done well, will get rid of your cellulite anyways.

Cellulite can be controlled with diet and exercise. Cut out the caffeine, alcohol, sugars, fats, and salts. Drink plenty of water every day. Try not to be sedentary: take the stairs when you can. Walk at least 30 minutes every day. Try doing leg squats and leg raises. Find out about the power of diet: you will be amazed at what you can accomplish just by changing your diet! There are alternatives to velashape - cheaper, faster, and more natural methods.

There is an alternative to costly treatments for getting rid of cellulite that doesn't require painful exercise or starving yourself! [http://www.nobodywantscellulite.com] Don't leave it for another day! Get ready for Summer!

Can Laser Liposuction Really Melt Away Fat?

Since their invention, fitness clubs have always been popular amongst various groups of people. When it comes to the kinds of people who frequent these places, there are a couple of main types. The first type are those who are obsessed with looking as fit as possible. Then, there are the people who are concerned about their health, but make smart choices about their exercise habits (meaning that they do not overdo). Next is the overweight people who have trouble focusing on exercise, and lastly there are the people who are at a healthy weight but are finding that exercise is not helping them lose the visible excess fat.

The people in this last group are considered to be optimal candidates for laser liposuction. People who have never heard about this procedure are probably curious to know how laser liposuction works. In order to understand that it is important to know how fat molecules happen in the first place. Fat molecules occur when the excess fat that a person consumes cannot be processed by the body.

So, the fat molecules form a layer between the muscles and the upper skin layers, and this is where laser liposuction comes in. What basically happens during a laser liposuction procedure (which is an outpatient procedure) is that first, small incisions are made in the skin layer. Next, a laser device is used to focus on the fat molecules. The laser heat ruptures these molecules, and the resulting liquefied fat is drained out through the incisions.

Reasons Why You Should Go See a Cosmetic Dermatologist

It does not matter how perfect they might seem, chances are that a person has had at least one kind of skin problem in their life. It all usually sets in with puberty and the arrival of pimples. While this skin problem is usually associated with a surge in the hormones of teenagers, they can also be caused by stress in adults. Sure, there are lots of different over-the-counter products that can help, but that does not mean that complications like scarring can't still happen.

For this, and for many other skin problems, it is important to see out the skill of a cosmetic dermatologist. What is a cosmetic dermatologist, anyway? Well, this profession is very similar to regular dermatology with the exception that this particular branch of dermatologist consists of procedures that involve advanced technology, like lasers. Some people are too embarrassed to go have their skin problems fixed, but they really shouldn't be. After all, this is what these specialists are there for in the first place - to help!

Acne is not the only thing that a cosmetic dermatologist can treat. Say, for example, that you suffer from a redness in the face, paired with a bulbous nose. No, these are not traits that are akin to too much drinking (as it has been thought by some). Rather, it is a symptom of a skin problem known as rosacea. Again, oftentimes this is a procedure a cosmetic dermatologist can fix by both the use of lasers and of medication.

What is Mesotherapy & How May it Help You?

Cellulite is a skin condition that affects nearly 90 percent of most men and women today. Cellulite can most commonly appear on the legs, buttocks, hips and abdomen area but is not caused by being overweight, which many people believe is the cause of cellulite. Cellulite appears on the body as lumpy, dimpled and often discolored pieces of the skin. So, how does one go about getting rid of cellulite?

Mesotherapy is a fairly new procedure that injects vitamins and other medications into the middle layer of the skin, also known as the mesoderm. This therapy is non-invasive and helps to stimulate the removal of cellulite, wrinkles, excess fat and sagging skin by aiding the body in healing itself from the inside out. This procedure has become more and more common because patients can now avoid having invasive surgery and anesthesia treatments.

Patients employing the Mesotherapy treatments usually require 10-15 treatments to fully see satisfactory results. The procedure is used to treat areas around the neck, abdomen, buttocks, legs, thighs, arms, the chin and any sagging skin on the body. This therapy helps to preserve the health of the skin on the inside over a prolonged period of time.

Mesotherapy, like other cosmetic surgeries, is not covered by medical insurance because it is a cosmetic procedure. Any patient that wishes to have this procedure performed will need to pay out of pocket for all of the costs. Always consult with your physician before making any decisions regarding surgery. It is important to be properly informed.

Med Spa Treatments - From A to Z

At a loss about which med spa treatment, or cosmetic medical procedure, is right for you? From Artecoll to Smart Lipo to Wrinkle Peels, this list should help...

A is for Artecoll. A dermal filler that claims to be "permanent" as the results last five years or more. Can be used to plump out facial wrinkles in particular and, occasionally, in the lips - although it's not recommended as the result can be disastrous! Make sure you have an allergy test before having this treatment - and the jury is still out about whether it is 100 percent safe.

B is for Botox. This FDA-approved injectable med spa treatment is made from a Botulinum Toxin A, a bacteria that can cause food poisoning. It works by either making us have chronic diarrhea, or paralyzing the muscles that can cause us to frown and make other wrinkles appear. Amazingly, it can also do wonders for migraines, excessive seating and even incontinence!

C is for Cellulite Treatments. Cellulite is just plain old fat, and the best way to get rid of it is through diet and exercise. If that fails, liposuction is one way to stop that orange peel look from taking over, as well as less invasive treatments such as LipoSolve, Smart Lipo and others. Many potions and lotions also claim to work, as well as procedures such as Lipomassage, Velasmooth and a host of rivals.

D is for Dermaplaning. A rather extreme method to get rid of acne scars and other skin problems by having someone scrape the skin off your face with a scalpel. Some people swear by it, others say it's a bit too brutal. You be the judge.

E is for Elite-Lipo Dissolve. A fat-busting treatment designed to get rid of lard in problem areas, such as love handles. You will have a series of injections to melt the fat away, along with attendant pain and discomfort. Stubborn areas usually respond well.

F is for Foot Implants (no, really). Wanna dance all night? Make the pain of high heels a thing of the past by having a filler injected into the soles of your feet. Try Perlane, Restylane or collagen - incredibly painful while you're having the injection, but isn't that what beauty's all about?

G is for Goretex. While it may sound like a brand of waterproof material, this is used as an non-toxic implant to plump out deep laugh lines, wrinkles and lips. As the body doesn't reject this substance, results are longer lasting than with other fillers. Also, because it's flexible with microscopic pores, it's has a low predisposition toward tearing.

H is for Hair Transplant."Donor" hair from the back or sides of your scalp are placed in the areas of your head where there is no hair, or where it is very thin. The idea is to have new hair grow in places where it has stopped growing. Painful and has limited results for most people.

I is for IPL Photofacial (Intense Pulsed Light). Combat the signs of aging - and the redness of rosacea - with light energy which stimulates the production of collagen. You will need at least five to ten treatment for maximum effect.

J is for Juvederm. Another filler for lips, face and other body parts. The beauty part, however, is that 80 of the Juvederm injected is safely reabsorbed by the body and eventually disappears, while 20 percent stays in the tissues. Lasts longer than Restylane as well - up to a year.

K is for Keratin used in Brazilian Hair Straightening. Using Keratin, this system is touted as being kinder to hair than other types of "permanent hair straightening" systems. Compared to the YUKO system, it is cheaper, takes less time, and wears away gradually. The downside is it only lasts up to four months. Play it safe by making sure your salon uses a cocktail without formaldehyde.

L is for Laser Hair Removal. Make unwanted hair a thing of the past with this treatment, which will make hair disappear almost permanently after time. The hair is zapped with light from a laser, which disables the hair follicles and stops the hair from growing. Nifty, huh?

M is for Male Waxing. Better, faster and more long-lasting than plucking or tweezing, hair waxing for men is becoming more and more popular. Give your hairy back a break or sample a hair-free chest for yourself - waxing isn't just for women anymore!

N is for Natural Body Contouring. Give yourself an overhaul with laser therapy to zap cellulite - before it zaps you. Non-invasive with long-lasting results, it purportedly works by changing the shape of the fat cells in your body and remodeling the connective tissue underneath.

O is for Obagi Facial. Cleanse your skin - and turn it blue - with this unique facial using Obagi skincare products. The Blue Peel chemical peel reveals fresher skin in just a week, after the old layers of skin have peeled away. Can also be done on other parts of the body such as the chest, hands and neck.

P is for Power Peel. A way to polish your face through the sanding technique of Microderm, or microdermabrasion. An alternative to a chemical peel, it can help get rid of wrinkles, acne scars, age spots and discoloration on the face.

Q is for Q-Med. Impress your cosmetic practitioner by knowing a bit about Q-Med, the medical company that makes medical implants, including Restylane (see below). Headquartered in Uppsala, Sweden, it also makes the injectable gel Macrolane, which is slowly gaining popularity as an "instant" breast enhancer, although it's not yet approved for sales in the US.

R is for Restylane. A dermal filler manufactured in Sweden, this popular filler can make skinny lips a thing of the past, and can plump up fine lines and wrinkles. It contains hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body to create volume. Once injected, it works with the hyaluronic acid already present in the body to create even more volume. Dissolves naturally, and can last least six months or more.

S is for Smart Lipo. An alternative to traditional liposuction, this revolutionary new technique involves making fat "melt" away by using a special laser that zaps problem areas. Is cheaper and has less down time that conventional lipo, but you may have lumpy and bumpy results.

T is for Thread Lift. Also known as a "lunchtime face lift", this med spa procedure involves making special sutures, using a barbed thread, to lift and therefore reposition the sagging parts of the face, such as the jowls. Cheaper and less invasive than a full face lift, but will have to be redone within a few years to keep up the look.

U is for Ugly Scar and Stretchmark Removal. Four main ways exist to get rid of scarring and stretch marks: chemical peel, dermabrasion, laser surgery and full excision. Remember that having realistic expectations is key: your skin will never revert to its pre-adolescent state, so don't expect too much!

V is for Vein Therapy. A popular way to get rid of thread veins by injecting a special solution directly into them, causing the lining of the vessel to become irritated. It then begins to swell and stick together, making the vein close. As a result blood can no longer flow through it, so the red or blue colour disappears.

W is for Wrinkle Peel. Make old layers of facial skin peel off with a special solution of acid, as the top layers are the ones most likely to wrinkle. Sounds tempting? Remember that a wrinkle peel can take up to a month to recover from, with risks including infection, scarring, permanent skin lightening and inflammation of the skin.

X is for X-ray. Keep healthy by knowing exactly how your internal health is doing. Some med spas offer X-ray absorptiometry scans, which can check your BMI, or Body Mass Index, as well as your bone density, before you have a treatment. Good to know before following any diet plan - or having lipo!

Y is for Youthful Skin. Skin rejuvenation treatments are perhaps the most sought after procedures offered in med spas today, as virtually everyone wants to look - and - feel younger. Don't forget, however, that exercise and proper diet go a long way to a healthier new you.

Z is for Zinc. Try this and ditch the skin rejuvenation treatments, as prevention is often better than cure. Keep yourself looking younger by religiously applying sunscreen containing zinc oxide, which acts as a barrier against the sun's harmful rays - and is also used as a barrier cream for babies with diaper rash!

New Advances in Liposuction - Body Jet Water Assisted Liposuction Really Gets the Job Done

Every once in a while a new technology comes along that "disrupts" our current ways of thinking. Remember when cell phones were just a novelty? And now we can't seem to do without them.

The field of liposuction has has many recent new developments based upon advances in technology such as Vaser, ultrasonic assisted liposuction, Slim Lipo and Smart Lipo laser assisted liposuction, PAL power assisted liposuction and others, but the one that is causing a "revolution" in the way we do liposuction simply uses water pressure to accomplish the job. Think of it as a power wash for your fatty tissue.

WAL or water assisted liposuction was introduced in Germany about five years ago and in December in the United States. This machine uses a gentle spray of dilute anesthetic solution to help dislodge fatty tissue in preparation for liposuction of the area. The liposuction is performed at the same time as the anesthesia is delivered and therefore there is less likelihood for lidocaine absorption or toxicity. In addition, the contours of the area can be more readily appreciated because the fluid has been extracted and more precise results can be ascertained. The fat can also be saved in a specialized container for reinjection of the buttocks, breasts or facial areas. The salvaged fat is the ideal filler and can be permanent.

The result is more accurate extraction of fat, less post operative bruising and discomfort, and much less downtime than with traditional methods of liposuction. If there is skin laxity then Slim Lipo or Smart Lipo laser induced methods can be used as an adjunct to help tighten the skin.

SmartLipo Laser Liposuction - Fast, Visible Results

Amazing New Technology for Fat Removal

If you're looking to get rid of those obstinate fat pockets, SmartLipo laser liposuction is a procedure that guarantees fast, visible results. Besides being the first and sole laser aided lipolysis machine to remove fat in a minimally invasive and innovative manner, SmartLipo is associated with fewer side-effects and a shorter downtime when compared to traditional liposuction.

A Winning Option

Whatever may be the color, age, skin type or shape of the person, SmartLipo emerges as a winning option. Included among the many body areas that can be effectively treated with SmartLipo are small regions of the face, arms, neck, male breasts, tummy, ankles, and knees. Any person with fat in these areas and who is not more than 25 lbs above the most correct weight for him/her, can stand to gain from SmartLipo.

Multiple Benefits

Here are some of the other benefits of SmartLipo laser liposuction:

o Only a minimal degree of bruising, discomfort, and pain.

o Results are visible soon after the procedure and would continue to get better over the months.

o Enhances body contour.

o Tautens sagging skin.

o Causes a certain level of cellulite enhancement.

o Stitches not required.

SmartLipo is more advantageous than other liposuction modalities that are laser assisted because of its use of a dual laser MPX - the SmartLipo MPX. The utilization of two wavelengths by the SmartLipo MPX helps to decrease the treatment time.

Fat Doesn't Return

Usually, one treatment is all that's required to get the desired results. What's more, once the treatment is over, you will not develop fresh fat cells. If fat is to develop, most of it would be concentrated in regions where the treatment was not done. It's no surprise then that so many people are going the SmartLipo way.

Liposuction Has Its Pros and Cons

The surgical removal of fat is very appealing, especially since fat can be removed from any part of the body, especially those areas that are very difficult to tackle even with regular exercise. But, plastic surgeons and experts also warn people of the surgery which has not all hunky dory.

Surgical Removal of Fat is not all Good or Bad

Many positive things have been said about lipo surgery and hence what one must consider more are the cons. The problem arising out of all this hugging and clapping over plastic surgery is that people consider this as the simplest and the fastest way to lose weight. This might be the fastest way to get rid of fat, but no surgery is simple or risk free by any means.

Not so Fast

Plastic surgeons and experts warn people from undertaking treatments if they are prone to certain kinds of illnesses since they might fall weak and not pull through the surgery. Experts also advise people that the excessive removal of fat is actually harmful for the body and that people should deal with facts before enlisting themselves for any sort of lipo medical process. The removal of fat is based on the body mass index of a person and hence that should be considered before you undertake this surgery.

Scrutinize the Lowest Bidder

Patients are also asked to only sit through a liposuction surgery from experienced and referenced surgeons and not the cheapest offers on the market. It is best to avoid going abroad for liposuction surgeries in case any kind of complications arise during this evolution. Liposuction should be considered as the ultimate option and not the first for the destruction of fat and its eradication off of your body.

A Look at the Various Cosmetic Surgery Procedures

Cosmetic surgery is a very popular procedure throughout the United States as well as in Europe. Popular figures such as actresses and models often undergo these procedures in order to enhance their appearance. If you are considering going under the knife to correct any imperfection in your body or appearance, here are some the common cosmetic surgery procedures and how you can benefit from them.

One of the most popular techniques in cosmetic surgery is breast implant. Also known as mastopexy, this procedure involves women desiring to lift and improve the appearance of their breasts. There are instances when it is partnered with mammaplasty, or the enlargement of the breast using saline or silicone gel insertions underneath the skin. Rhinoplasty, or nose lift, is another popular procedure in cosmetic surgery as well as tummy tucks or abdominoplasty.

Likewise, there are less popular cosmetic surgeries that people undergo as well. One of these less well-known procedure is sex organ transplant. Other less popular cosmetic surgery procedures include buttock augmentation (buttock enhancement), chin and cheek augmentations (face enhancement), rhytidectomy (face lift), and otoplasty (ear reshaping). In most instances, they are exclusively done for cosmetic purposes.

Liposuction, or suction-assisted lipectomy, is another popular kind of plastic surgery. It involves the removal of fat by a surgeon from the body of a person. On the other hand, collagen, fat, and tissue filler injections is another variety of plastic surgery that adds fat to a small area of the body where it may be insufficient.

Chemical peels are probably the least drastic among the cosmetic surgery procedures that are available today. It is designed to decrease acne, wrinkles, freckles, and aging through the application of acid to your face and letting the top layer of the skin peel and develop new skin.

Before taking into consideration any of the procedures of cosmetic surgery, you first need to consult your doctor. Bear in mind that not all these procedures are safe or effective for all people. There have been incidents of people who have experienced unsuccessful surgeries.

While it may be effective majority of the time, in the end, undergoing surgery can always be risky. In the end, it is all up to you to determine what procedure is best for you.

Smart Lipo is a cosmetic surgery procedure that is proven safe and acceptable by the Food and Drug Administration. Introduced in 2005, Smart Lipo was adjudged as a revolutionary method of surgery. It uses laser technology paving the way for a safer, cleaner, and faster procedure.
